Regional weather

Check map weather, its schedule and EXP, drop and elemental damage bonuses.

Check the weather

Type @weather to check your map's weather, effective bonuses and global cycle timer. With a compatible Rigel client, you can also open Map Weather using the button below Cash Shop, beside the minimap.

The window shows current weather, remaining duration, time until the next global interval and Base EXP, Job EXP, drop and elemental damage bonuses. If the button is missing, check that your server client is up to date.

Schedule and regions

The reference configuration uses America/Santiago, including daylight saving changes. A cycle starts every 3 hours, with 60 minutes of temporary weather at the beginning: 00:00–01:00, 03:00–04:00, 06:00–07:00, 09:00–10:00, 12:00–13:00, 15:00–16:00, 18:00–19:00 and 21:00–22:00.

Temporary weather pauses for the other two hours; permanent weather continues. Each region selects its own weather, shared by its eligible maps. Different regions may match; when alternatives exist, a region avoids repeating its previous cycle's profile.

Maps need normal monster spawns to participate. Towns, instances, PvP, GvG and Battleground maps are excluded from regional selection. Summoning monsters alone does not make a map eligible.

Weather and elements

The damage bonus applies to the attack's element, not the character's defensive element.

Client name Weather Boosted element
Fog Fog Neutral
Snow Snow Water
Dust Storm Dust storm Earth
Volcanic Heat Volcanic heat Fire
Wind Storm Wind storm Wind
Acid Rain Acid rain Poison
Aurora Aurora Holy
Eclipse Eclipse Shadow
Ghost Lights Ghost lights Ghost
Soul Storm Soul storm Undead

Halloween boosts all elements and can combine with regional weather. The reference configuration selects 5 distinct eligible maps per active cycle for this event; maps with permanent Halloween are excluded from that selection. Rain and thunderstorm profiles also exist for special assignments.

Bonuses and caps

Profiles roll +10–30% elemental damage, +10–50% Base EXP and Job EXP and +10–25% drop. Different profiles can stack, capped at +30% damage per element, +50% EXP and +25% drop. The same profile is never counted twice. Always check effective values in Map Weather or with @weather.

  • Damage benefits players and their controlled companions against monsters. Monsters also receive the bonus when attacking players: weather can increase danger.
  • EXP applies to normal monster kills before party distribution.
  • Drop increases relative probability, not item quantity: a 1% chance with +25% becomes 1.25%.
  • Special MVP rewards and rewards handed out directly by scripts are excluded.
  • Weather bonuses do not apply in PvP, GvG or Battlegrounds. Maps without active profiles receive no bonuses.

Permanent weather and visual preferences

Permanent compositions exist in Prontera, Lutie, Geffen and xmas_fild01. They can remain active outside temporary weather intervals; regional weather can also stack in xmas_fild01. Permanent assignments can exist in towns even though towns do not participate in random selections.

Reducing or hiding client effects only changes presentation. It does not remove server bonuses or change what other players see. Sound respects the client's SFX volume. See also visual controls.

This guide describes the reference configuration and does not show live server weather. Schedules or bonuses may change during events; the in-game state is the reference for your map.
