Experience and drop rates
Understand EXP multipliers, logarithmic drop scaling and the differences between items and cards.
Check the rates
Rigel of Midgard publishes its rates on the home page. Base EXP: 2.5x. Job EXP: 2.5x. For common items, the normal modifier is 200x and the Boss modifier is 100x. Card modifiers are 25x for normal monsters and 15x for Boss monsters. The additional MVP reward list uses 200x.
A drop rate is a calculation modifier, not the item’s final chance. The home page distinguishes Boss and MVP and warns when current values cannot be confirmed.
Experience is linear
Base and Job experience use linear multipliers, not a logarithmic curve. For example, at 250×, a base reward of 100 EXP becomes 25,000 EXP before sharing, bonuses and other applicable rules.
Quest rewards and additional MVP player experience may have their own adjustment. MVP instances do not grant Base EXP or Job EXP from the MVP.
What logarithmic means
When the home page says Logarithmic drops, the increase depends on the original chance: rarer items receive a larger proportional increase. Frequent items increase less, and the chance never exceeds 100%.
That is why 200× describes the curve’s modifier rather than multiplying any chance by 200. It does not guarantee an item after a fixed number of kills.
Drop examples
These examples use a 200× modifier for common items from a normal monster, before personal bonuses and map or instance adjustments:
- Base chance 0.01%: becomes 2.00%, an increase of 200×.
- Base chance 1.00%: becomes 37.21%, an increase of approximately 37.21×.
- Base chance 10.00%: becomes 97.95%, an increase of approximately 9.795×.
Cards use another category. With a 0.01% base chance, a 25× modifier produces 0.25%, while 15× produces 0.15%. Do not apply the common item modifier to a card.
What can change the final chance
Item category, monster type, personal bonuses and map or instance rules can change the result. An MVP monster’s normal drops differ from its additional reward list: do not interchange their rates.
Use the client database to identify the item and monster. The MVP tombstone shows successful normal drops, while card progress explains a guarantee separate from these chances.
